Målsetning: This study tests the hypothesis that omega-3 supplementation over 6 months will reduce behavior problems in children both at the end of treatment and at 6 months post treatment.
Konklusjon: Findings provide initial evidence that omega-3 supplementation can produce sustained reductions in externalizing and internalizing behavior problems. Results are the first to report improvements in caregiver behavior, and to establish this improvement as a part-mechanism for the efficacy of omega-3.

Målsetning: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of a convenience drink enriched with 500 mg EPA and DHA on the n-3 index, a biomarker of EPA and DHA status in an individual.

Målsetning: To investigate the degree of lipid peroxidation in cell membranes of U937 cells following incubation of Smart-fish juice and gelatin capsule based marine oils rich in omega 3 fatty acids. The marine oils from capsules were supplemented with lycopene and lutein to see whether these antioxidants would influence the degree of lipid peroxidation compared with Smartfish-juice.
Konklusjon: In conclusion, the data strongly suggest that Smartfish-juice seems to offer a greater protection against lipid peroxidation than other suppliers of marine oil products

Målsetning: Omega3 docosahexaenonic acid(DHA) and vitamin D3 popular as nutritional supplements against dementia.DHA is a precursor of the lipid modulators resolvin D1 and D2 (RvD1) and neuroprotectins (NPD1). The hormonal form of vitamin D3 1,25dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D3) has positive genomic and nongenomic effects in the innate immune system. Although epidemiological studies have shown the effectiveness of omega-3 and vitamin D3 supplementation against cognitive decline, their mechanisms and individual effectiveness in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD) are not understood. Current understanding of amyloid–β (Aβ1-42) signaling in PBMCs and the mechanisms of 1,25D3 and RvD1 are shown.
